Consumer Reports calls Heidi Hooper “The Andy Warhol of Dryer Lint.” A graduate of VCU’s Sculpture department, she studied for her Masters at the Massachusetts College of Art. She is a two-time Niche Award winner for her unusual art, which can be found in many galleries and in Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museums. She’s been a guest on ABC TV’s To Tell The Truth (where Mel Brooks offered her his belly button lint) and on Access Hollywood (where she surprised Mario Lopez with a dryer lint portrait). She has been featured in many local TV shows, magazines, and podcasts. Although she no longer competes for health reasons, she is still proud of her status as a Master class costumer who has won awards at the Worldcon level.
