Since the beginning of the outbreak, RavenCon has been committed to protecting our family of fans while still maintaining the ability for us to get together and share in the fandoms that we all love so much. Our policies have been guided by both CDC recommendations and local government requirements.
Now, with health systems no longer overwhelmed and more than a year of no surprise variants, many infectious disease experts are declaring a shift in the crisis from pandemic to endemic. With that in mind, we are not requiring proof of vaccination or requiring masks this year. We do, however, strongly encourage attendees and program participants to wear masks whenever in highly trafficked public spaces. We will have masks and COVID tests on hand for anyone that should need either.
RavenCon is using 100% of the hotel and the function space, so the only people in attendance will be convention attendees. All panel rooms and programming spaces will be deep-cleaned each day. We are fortunate to have a large convention space where people can spread out and, weather permitting, we will be holding some programming outside to take advantage of the extra space.
We would also like to remind everyone that if you are running a fever or experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay home. If you have pre-registered for the convention and are unable to attend because of these guidelines, we will be happy to forward your registration to 2024 or issue a full refund.
We will continue to evaluate our policies and procedures and follow the guidance of public health officials in order to keep the convention as safe as possible for those who choose to attend. As always, our goal is to hold the best convention possible. For the entire staff and many of the attendees, RavenCon is family. We want to keep our family safe.
Thank you for your patience and support.
