PRESS RELEASE 03/17/2020

On March 15th, due to the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Governor Ralph Northam declared a ban on all gatherings in the state of Virginia over 100 people and a further ban on groups of over 50 people on the Virginia Peninsula where RavenCon is held. As a result we have no choice but to announce the cancellation of RavenCon 15 on April 24–26, 2020.

As saddened as we are by this announcement we know that it is the best decision for the safety of ourselves, our guests, our vendors, and our attendees.

We have looked into the possibility of rescheduling the event to later in the year but have been unable to secure a new location on short notice and our current hotel (the DoubleTree by Hilton Williamsburg) has no open dates available for us to use.

As a result, we will continue with our plans to relocate RavenCon back to its original home in Richmond, Virginia. RavenCon 15 will now be held the weekend of April 16–18, 2021 at the Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center in Glen Allen, Virginia.

Virginia Crossings is located north of Richmond, near the intersection of Routes 95 and 295.

Terry Brooks and Rhiannon’s Lark have both consented to remain as our Guests of Honor for 2021.

We will be inviting our current roster of guests and vendors to join us in 2021.

Attendees that pre-purchased their memberships will be given the option of forwarding their membership to 2021 or having their money refunded.

As always, the staff of RavenCon is hard at work right now to make sure that next year’s convention will be fun, exciting, and safe. We look forward to seeing everyone in April 2021.

RavenCon 15 will be held April 16-18, 2021 at Virginia Crossings, 1000 Virginia Center Parkway, Glen Allen, VA 23059.
