Cesca Janece Waterfield earned an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in Literature at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA.

She owns Honey House Press LLC, a publishing company based in Virginia that is developing a mystery and noir anthology to launch later this year.

Cesca’s short fiction has appeared in Mystery Tribune, Deep South Magazine, RVA Magazine, and was awarded the Editor’s Prize by MARY: A Journal of New Writing. Her poetry has appeared in The Comstock Review, Scalawag Magazine, LUMINA, and more. She is the author most recently of Conspiracy Cherry (Ludic Arts) and The Oyster Garden (Selene Pressworks). She taught college creative writing and composition from 2014 to 2019 in Louisiana and Wisconsin.

Cesca’s research and writing interests include how the natural world and scientific phenomena can be employed in creative nonfiction and science fiction narratives. She is at work on a manuscript of creative nonfiction titled, Cicada Acre: A Child’s Fear and Wonder on a Virginia River.
