Since 2004, Synthetic Nightmare have headlined regional shows as well as provided support for nationally and internationally known acts such as Bella Morte, 45 Grave, and Pigface, Sheep on Drugs, Nocturne, Hanzel Und Gretyl, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, W.A.S.T.E., and Alter Der Ruine. Synthetic Nightmare’s sound incorporates both harsh and melodic textures, with just enough progressive and experimental touches to keep listeners from getting bored. All of this is exemplified in their first full-length album Rot in Equality, which was self-produced and released in 2008. Synthetic Nightmare also aim to create the most entertaining live atmosphere possible. Shows have included firebreathing dancers, numerous scratch-built stage props, the onstage use of industrial tools, and Guapo (the Sleepytime Disaster Ape). With each show, the Synthetic Nightmare fanbase continues to expand, composed of people hailing from many different music scenes and subcultures, just as the band continues to refuse to be pigeonholed by the limitations of one specific rock genre.
