Gray Rinehart

Gray Rinehart

Gray Rinehart writes fiction, nonfiction, and music. He is the only person to have commanded an Air Force satellite tracking station, written speeches for Presidential appointees, and had music on The Dr. Demento Show. He is currently a contributing editor (the “Slushmaster General”) for Baen Books.

Gray is the author of the near-future science fiction novel Walking on the Sea of Clouds, and his short fiction has appeared in Analog Science Fiction & Fact, Asimov’s Science Fiction, Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show, and multiple anthologies. He is also a singer/songwriter with two albums of mostly science-fiction-and-fantasy-inspired music.

During his rather odd USAF career, Gray fought rocket propellant fires, refurbished space launch facilities, “flew” Milstar satellites, drove trucks, processed nuclear command and control orders, commanded the largest remote tracking station in the Air Force Satellite Control Network, and did other interesting things. His alter ego is the Gray Man, one of several famed ghosts of South Carolina’s Grand Strand, and his website is graymanwrites.com.

Alley Space

Tables are typically 6 feet long by 12 inches wide. RavenCon will work to provide adequate space behind and around the tables for ease of movement and storage. If your table is not required, please let us know. If you choose to vend in the Alley, we ask that you keep your table manned during the peak hours of the convention. To provide maximum exposure and strong walk-by traffic, the Alley is in an open, unsecured area. We ask that you not plan on storing things at your table overnight.

Upon confirmation from the Director, and receipt of full payment, each artist or author will receive one (1) complimentary membership. Guest Application, September

This application is for RavenCon 13.5, which will be held September 21-23, 2018, in Richmond, Virginia.

RavenCon strives to create an original guest list every year. We work diligently all summer long to finalize our guest list for the following year. We book approximately 100 guests each year and offer over 300 hours of programming. We want to introduce the attendees of RavenCon to talented new writers and artists and allow them to meet and interact with them. RavenCon is the con of opportunity; it’s a place for people to network, to create bonds and friendships, to meet new people, to read new books, see new art, to find a new writer or artist to follow.

Apply Here

If you would like to participate as a guest, please fill out the Guest Application. We require our guests to participate in a minimum of four (4) hours of programming. If you are accepted as a guest you will receive 2 badges (large groups will receive badges based on the number of people participating in programming). Any financial reimbursements or compensations (hotels, travel, etc.) are reserved for our Guests of Honor only.
